Appointment Guidelines
All visits to Generation Health are by appointment only. While we operate from two locations—Castleknock and Monkstown—we work as one connected team, and any of our medical receptionists will be happy to assist you.
To book an appointment, please call:
📍 Castleknock: 01 823 5367
📍 Monkstown: 01 246 1157
Appointments cannot be booked via email. Our reception team is here to help guide your care and ensure you're seen by the right healthcare professional.
When booking, you’ll be asked for some basic information about the reason for your visit. This helps us triage your care appropriately and match you with the correct appointment type—whether that’s a nurse, doctor, or extended consultation.
- Routine appointments are 15 minutes
- To ensure safe, comprehensive and timely care, a maximum of two issues can be addressed in a standard consult appointment.
- If you have multiple or complex concerns, we ask that you book a prolonged appointment of at least 30 minutes ( €140)
- If a standard slot is booked but prolonged care is required, we reserve the right to apply the extended consultation fee
Cancellation Policy
A fee will apply to all patients who do not attend or who cancel their appointment without at least 1 hour’s notice. This allows us to offer the time slot to another patient in need.
Nurse Prescriber Appointments – Expert Care with Nurse Lucie Furlong
We’re proud to offer advanced nursing care at our Monkstown clinic with Nurse Lucie Furlong, a qualified Nurse Prescriber. Lucie provides expert, patient-centred care and can diagnose, treat, and prescribe for a range of common health concerns—offering an excellent alternative to a routine doctor appointment.
Nurse Lucie can support patients with:
- Women’s health and contraceptive care
- Blood pressure and cardiovascular health
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
- Sexual health consultations
- General health reviews and follow-up care
This service is ideal for patients seeking timely, effective care for these issues without needing to see a GP.
🩺 Consultation Fee: €65 (reduced rate)
Nurse prescriber appointments offer comprehensive care in a professional, approachable setting—and ensure quicker access for many common concerns.
Consultation Fees
Our fee for a routine GP consultation is €70.
If, during your consultation, your doctor undertakes or refers you for further investigations—such as blood tests, urine tests, swabs, radiology, or endoscopy referrals—a €30 surcharge will apply. This covers the additional time your doctor spends outside the consultation coordinating your care, including:
- Arranging referrals
- Reviewing results
- Communicating with other services as needed
Please note:
🔹 This surcharge does not include a follow-up consultation.
If your results require further discussion, a follow-up appointment will need to be booked and charged separately.
At Generation Health, our GPs often investigate and manage concerns that would historically require hospital referral. This can often reduce the need for outpatient visits—or ensure that if hospital care is needed, you arrive with test results already in hand, helping to fast-track your diagnosis.
An additional €30 at your GP can often save significant time and cost compared to private specialist referrals or lengthy hospital waits.
If you prefer to be referred directly to a Hospital Consultant to decide what future investigations you may need, and request them to undertake to arrange them and follow up the results then the extra €30 does not apply.
Extended Care Consultations
Several of our doctors have additional training and expertise in specialised areas of care. To ensure we provide the time, attention, and clinical depth these services require, we offer Extended Care Consultations.
These consultations are ideal for patients seeking support in areas such as:
- Obesity Management, including the prescription of weight management injections
- Menopause Care, with personalised hormone and lifestyle treatment plans
- Specialised Acne Clinics, including assessment and Roaccutane (isotretinoin) prescribing
- Mole Checks and Skin Assessments, using a dermatoscope for detailed skin reviews
- Extended Mental Health Consultations, for a more in-depth and supportive review
The first appointment for any of these services must be booked as an Extended Care Consultation to allow sufficient time for a full assessment and care plan.
🕒 Appointment duration: 30 minutes
💳 Fee: €180
This ensures a comprehensive, personalised experience—supporting better outcomes and more effective ongoing care.
Many of these services have traditionally been provided in hospital or specialist clinic settings, often involving long wait times or higher costs. We’re delighted to now offer the same high-quality, expert care within our community clinics, giving you more timely access in a familiar and supportive environment.

- Blood Test: €45
- Nurse Consultation: €55
